12 DAYS / 11 NIGHTS

DAY 01. USHUAIA. Arrival in Ushuaia. Transfer to the hotel. accommodation

DAY 02. USHUAIA. During the afternoon we embark on Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, the most southern  city in the world, located on the banks of the Beagle Channel and we start navigating along this scenic canal for the rest of the night.

DAYS 03 - 04. NAVIGATION. During the next two days in the Drake Passage, you will savor life from the perspective of the polar explorers who first challenged these regions: fresh salt breezes, undulating seas, maybe even a fin whale flying towards the sea. After passing the Antarctic Convergence, the natural limit of Antarctica, which is formed when cold waters that flow northward collide with the warmer sub-Antarctic seas, found in the surrounding area of the Antarctic outcrop. A variety of albatrosses and petrels are presented, along with Cape pigeons and southern fulmars. Then, near the South Shetland Islands, the first icebergs can be glimpsed.

DAYS 05 - 08. ANTARCTICA. We will sail directly to Antarctica, passing the Melchior Islands and the Schollaert Channel between the islands of Brabant and Antwerp. The Antarctic Peninsula is known for its frozen beauty and abundant wildlife. During our stay here we will optimize the experience to get the most out of everything. Some of the sites that can be visited include Cuverville Island, a small and rugged island nestled between the mountains of the Antarctic Peninsula and Rongé Island, we will find an extensive colony of Papua penguin and also nesting common scouting pairs. In the nearby Danco Island, in the Errera Channel, the activities are concentrated around the Papua penguins that nest at the top of the island as well as the Weddell seals and crabeater that may be in the vicinity of the island. In Puerto Neko we could have the opportunity to disembark in the continent surrounded by a magnificent landscape with huge glaciers at sea level with regular landslides. During the cruises in Zodiac we will enjoy the landscape surrounded by alpine peaks. In Paradise Bay, with its myriad of icebergs, we could have the opportunity to disembark in the Antarctic continent. Once again it is possible to take a Zodiac cruise in the interiors of this beautiful passage. In this area, we have good chances to see humpback whales and Minke. After navigating the Neumayer channel, we hope to visit the old British scientific station, now a museum and post office, in Port Lockroy on Goudier Island. Very close to where it is possible to offer a landing in Punta Jougla where Papua penguins and blue-eyed cormorants nest. This area offers excellent opportunities for kayaking and camping. When snow conditions permit, we use snowshoes in our regular landings, which greatly improves mobility and safety in deep snow conditions.

DAY 09. SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS. The South Shetland volcanic islands are whipped by the wind and usually enveloped by fog, yet offer subtle pleasures. There is a nice variety of flora (mosses, lichens and grasses with flowers) and fauna such as Papua penguins, chinstrap and Southern giant petrels. On Deception Island our vessel ventures into the submerged crater through the spectacular Neptune Bellows. Here we find hot springs, an abandoned whaling station, thousands of checkerboard petrels and many cook gulls, common and polar skuas and Antarctic terns. Paiño de Wilson and black-bellied storm petrels nest in the ruins of the whaling station in Caleta Balleneros. Alternatively, we will try to carry out activities in the nearby island Half Moon. Here we will find chinstrap penguin and Weddell seals usually rest on the beach near the Argentine station Cámara. When the weather forecast is unfavorable (sea conditions and weather) we will leave from there around noon.

DAYS 10 - 11. NAVIGATION. To the north, once again we are accompanied by a large selection of seabirds as we cross the Drake Passage.

DAY 12. USHUAIA. Arrival to Ushuaia during the morning and disembarkation. Transfer to the airport to take the corresponding flight. End of our services.
